Ruby & Ozpin | Commission Piece

This piece was drawn as a commission based on a RWBY-inspired fanfiction, featuring the character Ozpin alongside an original dragon character named Ruby.

The goal of this artwork was to explore the contrast between calm control and underlying chaos. Ozpin is portrayed with a composed, almost detached demeanor, while the environment behind him reflects destruction and intensity. Ruby’s presence adds a dynamic, fiery energy, reinforcing that contrast and creating a layered narrative within the scene.

I focused heavily on lighting and atmosphere, using warm fire tones to shape the mood and highlight the characters against a darker palette. This helped bring depth to the composition while maintaining a cinematic feel.
